November 18 – bright and sunny, but very, very cold.

Perhaps Ferrari 360s don’t like the bitter cold: unfortunately two of them were badly damaged, Phil Burton’s JMH car (rear-ended at Clark Curve), and the yellow example seen piling into the tyre wall at Surtees.

David Ashburn (at the wheel) and Piers Masarati were sampling Trackspeed’s new Porsche 997, and the team manager was very, very impressed with the new machine. Very impressed. Beneath that is the team's GT3, the car that ran so well at Vallelunga.
