Matt Seldon wins VM opener with stunning drive
MSVR Victor Meldrew Trophy - Race 1 - Matt Seldon produced an impressive drive from row 12 of the grid to win the first Victor Meldrew Trophy handicap race.
Brian Daly started on pole and he held the lead for the majority of the 12 laps race before eventually being caught and passed by the chasing pak on lap 10. Initially Gordon Streeter in the Ford Anglia, who started in the same handicap group as Daly, presented an early challenge for the lead as he slotted into second spot. He found himself 10 seconds behind after a slow start but he soon reeled in the leader.
However, the faster runners at the back of the handicap began to scyth their way through the field with Seldon particularly making progress rapidly. He was joined by John Willcocks and Colin Tester, who showed their class when dealing with traffic.
In the end Daly was unable to hold onto his lead and on lap 10 of 12 he surrended his advantage at Surtees to the blistering quick Seldon, who went on to take chequered flag from Willcocks and Tester.

Seldons share Project Eight Racing Saloons front row

MSVR Victor Meldrew Trophy - Project Eight Racing Saloons - Father and son Peter and Matt Seldon locked out the front row of the grid with just hundredths of a second separating the pair.
It was Peter, who secured the pole position setting a time just 0.051 seconds faster than his son Matt in identical BMW machinery. Multiple race winner Adam Sharpe will start on row two in third just ahead of his season long rival Colin Tester.

PR8 Race One:
Tester triumphs after storming start
MSVR Victor Meldrew Trophy - Project Eight Racing Saloons - The Ford Sierra Cosworth of Colin Tester made the most of a good start as he dominated the first Project Eight Racing Saloons race of the day at Brands Hatch.
Tester, who has been contender for victories on several occasions, made a storming start from the second row of the grid and he took the lead by moving around both Peter and Matt Seldon on the entry to Paddock Hill Bend.
Once in the lead, Tester never looked back and he quickly established a healthy lead at the front ahead of Adam Sharpe and Matt Seldon, who were involved in a close scrap for second place. Sharpe and Seldon produced the majority of the entertainment with their battle for second but at the chequered flag Tester took the top honours from Sharpe, who just edged out Seldon.

Cassar wins the race but Streeter claims Victor Meldrew Trophy
VM Race Two
MSVR Victor Meldrew Trophy - Victor Meldrew Trophy Race Two - Despite a valiant challenge by Gordon Streeter, Steve Cassar snatched the victory in the second Victor Meldrew Trophy race at Brands Hatch, but it was Streeter who claimed the overall Trophy prize.
Mickey Daly led the field from pole in the handicap race, but it wasn't long before Gordon Streeter soon got the better of the Renault Clio driver and he took the lead of the race. With Colin Tester required to complete a lap more than all the competitiors, the challenge for the race win was blown wide open.
However, Peter Seldon showed impressive pace in his BMW moving from the very back of the grid to sixth at the end of the race.
The battle for the victory came down to the very last lap with Streeter in the lead but he was being rapidly caught by Cassar. The proton man found a way past at Graham Hill Bend and he managed to hold his position to take the chequered flag.
In order to decide the overall champion the tow race results were put together, which cocluded that Streeter won the overall Victor Meldrew Trophy prize.

Sharpe finishes season on a high
PR8 Race Two
MSVR Victor Meldrew Trophy - Project Eight Racing Saloons - Multiple race winner Adam Sharpe rounded off a successful season in the Project Eight Racing Saloons by winning the final encounter of the year at Brands Hatch.
Colin Tester, who won the earlier race of the day, led the early stages but he was unable to cope with the pace of Sharpe in the end the Taunton driver clocked up yet another victory in the series this year. Matt Seldon finished second just seven tenths behind but crucially ahead of Tester.
